Academic Assessment

This is how we assess our students.

We believe parents have a lot to contribute to the success of their children’s education. The education of your child depends upon the co-operation developed between parents and the school.

Teachers will give different types of homework to reinforce the work undertaken in class, encouraging independent learning in the home environment. Parents are encouraged to supervise any assignments children might bring home, as well as help them with their reading.

Class test is a credit-bearing examination that is organised and supervised by the class teacher. This allows teachers to assess the progress of students after completion of each sub strand per the agreed lesson plan.

Mid-Term test is a credit-bearing examination that is organised by the school and supervised by other class teachers. This to enable the head of school and the curriculum team to evaluate students’ progress and attend to students with special educational needs to catch up with the rest of the class.

Students in Year 6 take the Cambridge Checkpoint assessment. The tests is to assess students’ performance at the end of Cambridge Primary stage. The exams are marked in in line Cambridge Assessment benchmark
